Welcome to Waste Management's
Azusa Material Recovery Facility, Waste Transfer Station,
and Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility.

Waste Management is committed to meeting the long-term waste disposal and recycling needs of the San Gabriel Valley in an environmentally sensitive, cost-effective and community-focused manner. To that end, Waste Management is proposing to build the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified 'green building' in the city of Azusa at its current operations, Azusa Land Reclamation Landfill, on the corner of Irwindale Ave. and Gladstone St.

Waste Management will demolish an old recycling building on its current site and replace it with a state of the art facility that includes a:
  • Material Recovery Facility, which can process up to 800 tons per day of recyclable materials and transport to end-user manufacturers.

  • Waste Transfer Station, which can receive and transfer up to 2500 tons per day of Municipal Solid Waste and process 500 tons per day of green waste and transport to composting facilities.

  • Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility, which would be open on the weekends and provide residents the opportunity to drop off electronic waste, batteries, paint, used oil and other leftover household products which require special management and disposal treatment.
The Azusa Material Recovery Facility, Waste Transfer Station, and Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility will lead the way to a cleaner, greener San Gabriel Valley!

  • First LEED certified building in the City of Azusa

  • Use of recycled content materials in construction

  • 75% of construction debris will be diverted from landfill and recycled
